Tastes Like Chick-lit

I have no idea what to make of this since I don't know the people personally or read their sites, but YM was tipped by a reader that it should be of interest to whoever follows the rash of girlie blogs. (But I guess if you're already into that stuff then you've probably read all of this by now? Whatever, Young Manhattanites, go forward and fuck!!)
A former muse of an Amy Sohn article devotes two full length entries attacking the "publicity-hound" Stephanie Klein. Really fascinating. Reading these posts makes reading Klein's site like taking a walk through Lizzie Grubman's tinkled pink asshole: lots of shit, pampered, and packaged. Gawker has reported on this failed casanova before.

NYC Consigliere - "Greeked-Tragedy"

NYC Consigliere - "Chasing Amy"

New York Mag - Amy Sohn article

Gawker - "Chris London Megaplayer"

At least when I bitch and moan, it's usually about real issues, and not about how my pussy smells a bit like tuna salad today.

(even when it does suffer from that eau de Starkist)

Well, if you read my blog "entries" on this my real issues are two fold. If the NY Times considers itself a paper of record than their columnists, in particular Stephanie Rosenbloom ought to have done her research on Stephanie Klein rather than have simply run what amounts to a Press Release for Stephanie Klein's blog,"Greek Tragedy". Secondly, I take issue with the idea that what she is doing on her blog is original or some literary art form when a random search down anyone's blog list will offer some more personal and interesting stories than the packaged gibberish on her site. I do not consider myself a "real writer" nor do I consider myself a blogger since that would involve doing this daily. But it is really sad if Greek Tragedy serves as the latest infomercial for New York Life, when the reality is that her Technorati ranking is largely as a result of women without lives sitting in some other part of the world eating bon bons looking for the latest incantation of Carrie Bradshaw.

Chris, you sound pathetic. Many of us dislike Klein's blog and possibly find her shallow or annoying or overrated, but I doubt any of us care enough to devise two full length chapters as to why we find her offensive. And what -- you're rallying against the NYTimes because they did a puff piece? Because the NYTimes has NEVER done that?!

Do you fight against every mediocre blog you come across? You're like a neurotic woman scorned. Seems like you tried to kiss Klein's ass and she simply didnt want to befriend you. For your own good, get over it. Youre emberassing yourself.

I pledged not to read any of the sites involved to keep myself impartially ignorant. I was just hoping to create a neutral ballpark so neither side could claim home field advantage, but I think we have a rainout on our hands.

hey "anonymous" or is this rather Stephanie "more photos of me" Klein? Maybe Heather "This Fish" Hunter? Kiss Klein's ass? Nope. Honestly, no reason to. Nor did I have or ever have any interest in doing so. I do not dig redheads, sorry. As someone who got to know her up close and personal, I just thought that there was a contrary view and that perhaps some might be interested and I have received more emails from female bloggers commenting how what I wrote actually made them wonder whether they should find some more productive uses with their lives than idealizing a vapid and unoriginal reincarnation of "Sex and the City" I have to go buy a "This Fish Needs a Bicyle" T-shirt. Maybe I can wear it to Stephanie's book signing.

Its neither, Chris "im obsessed with Klein" London. Its actually someone who finds those websites equally annoying and idiotic but is rational enough to notice a psycho when she comes across one. It seems as if you've been commenting on every site that mentions Klein (what, do you technorati stalk her?) and rumor has it you sent a press release about her? HOLY SHIT. Chris London, you're not normal!

Really a shame, because if you were just a tad less psychotic about the whole ordeal I would've supported your opinions.
