Shore Leaving

Hurry! It's almost over.

Typo aside, Steven Shore exhibit at ICP is dynamite. "Retrospective" is usually doublespeak for "We got just enough rights to milk you for $20" but this is chock-a-block of photos. Enough to pepper your retinas like a boxer's rabbit punches: 164 pics in total.

(Ultra plus: Shore exhibits some "all in one day" photo books he made with iTunes's book-creating software (look for the icon, JD, and legit yerself). Internet's a user-revolution, but let's see the "Dramatic Chipmunk" sell his shit to the Museum of Modern Art at 14 yrs old.)

Word is, for "Uncommon Places," S. Shore, small-format camera in hand, took photos of nearly everything during his cross-country trip: receipts, waitresses, meals, et al. Shutter bug for sure. His next trip he scaled up to a larger-format camera to temper his mania.

Get while there's gettings.

(Apologies for the service journalism, Gothamist.com. BTW: Did you guys hear? NYC hates all photographers and we are so going to act like Bloomberg knows who we are!) (Sorry for obv vitriol YM readership.))
