Undertones: More Blogs about Chocolate and Girls

Gage in Prague, November 2004. I cropped his Korean wife out of the picture. You can tell it's Prague by the Pepsi sign and ketchup bottle. (Actually, his wife wasn't in this picture but I would have cropped her out. Because she's Korean. Just one Pepsi, right?)

  • Joey Kurtzman provides a summary of the real Korean Crop-Chop-Jewy story concerning Noah Feldman and his wife from the NYT magazine cover story, Orthodox Paradox.

  • Speaking of Ortho-mania, check out the Aish Cafe.

Wow, for many reasons I won't go into, but putting aside Gawker's Carlos Mencia-styled ethnic jabbing (note: it's not offensive when it's stupid and lacks any attempt of being clever, that's just lazy), no one makes fun of the Jews like the Jews do...but this from an Orthodox organization like Aish? I dunno, the caricature isn't quite the equivalent of a Muslim group mocking their own suicide bombers (something I imagine you'd never see), but later in the video Rabbi Yom Tov, who taught one of the classes I took in Jerusalem, says "every Jew is like a time bomb." Maybe the analogy isn't that far off.

  • But enough of the Jews...here are other obsessions worth elbowing an old lady on the subway for: the Congo and Julia Allison in jeans.
