I hope to get back to posting with a little consistency on Blottered. Oddly enough, there was a rare shooting in Crofton a block away from me which I didn't hear about while I was guest-editing Gawker. Don't be messin' around with poodles.

Frumming to Gawking Out in 60 Secs

Early this morning I was mere hours away from getting into a car headed for Charleston, SC and then Nashville for New Year's when I got a phone call, interrupting the comfort of the room I grew up in, asking to sub on Gawker. I wanted to say no but the scoundrels offered money, real American dollars, which I sorely need to pay off gambling debts to governments and credit institutions.

It's probably a good thing I didn't have too much time to think about it. "Thinking about it" is where we usually screw things up. But now I need to make new weekend plans. Guess I'm headed back to New York sooner than I thought after all.
